BAR NETWORK MEMBERSHIP

Find your place in the community.

People come to BAR through study, creative practice, performance, collaboration, mentorship, community support, and curiosity. Invited members claim an account, build a professional profile, and decide how they would like to participate.

A RULES-BASED PATH

Recognition without a public hierarchy.

Account access, profile completion, BAR relationship confirmation, directory visibility, and editorial participation remain separate decisions.

  1. 01

    Confirm invitation

A secure invitation link confirms the invited email before a password can be created.

  2. 02

    Professional profile

Members share their practice, education context, work, interests, and availability.

  3. 03

    Privacy

Professional fields start public, and every field can be limited to verified members or kept private.

  4. 04

    Connections

Structured requests, acceptance, blocking, reporting, and limits keep contact permissioned.

RULES-BASED CONFIRMATION

The system looks for evidence, not status.

01

Match an invitation

A secure invitation link confirms the invited address before profile setup begins.

02

Activate your profile

Members complete professional information and choose field-level privacy before appearing in the directory.

03

Govern contact together

Connection limits, acceptance, blocking, reporting, and automatic restrictions reduce the need for routine supervision.

VISIBILITY + PRIVACY

You decide how reachable you are.

Public

New professional profiles start with public visibility choices, but nothing appears until the member reviews the public preview and explicitly activates it.

Verified members

Professional details and connection requests can stay within the signed-in Network.

Private

Email, credentials, and safety activity stay private. A sender shares their own email only when they confirm a direct-reply request.
